Nanya Technology to Scale Up R&D Team from 800 to 1000
January 20, 2020

In anticipation of demand growth in DRAM driven by 5G and AI, Taiwan’s DRAM maker Nanay Technology recently announced its plan to recruit an additional 200 R&D personnel for its R&D team to top 1000, the Economic Daily News reported on January 20. In addition, Nanya is set to kick off in-house production based on 10nm process technology in the second half of 2020. According to Taipei-based government-backed research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), the decline in memory price slowed down in the third quarter of 2019 due to seasonal shipments of DRAM, NAND Flash, and NOR Flash. Another Taiwan DRAM maker Macronix enjoyed up to 52.9% sequential growth in the third quarter of 2019 mainly due to brisk ROM (Read Only Memory) shipments for the Nintendo Switch Pro.
